Florida National Guard member charged with sexually battering two children

Jacksonville, FL — A sergeant military policeman for Camp Blanding, who is also a member of the Florida National Guard, is being held on $750,009 bond, after being charged with three counts of sexual battery on a person younger than 12-years-old.

Arrest warrants for Edward Bowman, 28, we obtained from the Clay County Sheriff’s Office reveal that an 11-year-old boy told investigators that Bowman touched him in a sexual manner on a few different occasions, with the contact ranging from french kissing to lewd acts.

One of the alleged incidents reportedly happened during a family camping trip at Camp Blanding, in which Bowman was also invited to.

Investigators say an 8-year-old also reported abuse by Bowman.

Bowman has been a member of the National Guard since December 2006. The guard says if Bowman is convicted, they will military proceedings and appropriate actions will be taken.
