Jacksonville, Fl — Florida’s vaccination effort is getting a major boost as Governor Ron DeSantis announced all residents age 40 and over will be eligible to get a shot beginning Monday.
And beginning April 5th, all Florida residents 18 and over will be eligible to get vaccinated.
“We’ve now vaccinated over 70% of the roughly 4.4 million seniors living in the state. We’ve also made great progress on those ages 60 to 64 and on those age 50 and older. And we’re ready to take this step”, said DeSantis.

DeSantis cited hospitalization and case rates for senior citizens, saying he wants to keep the momentum going as eligibility expands to younger age groups.
