Florida Blue, Baptist Health announce multi-year agreement after months of negotiations

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Baptist Health Jacksonville and Florida Blue have finalized a new multi-year agreement, ensuring continued access to health care for thousands of Florida Blue members.

This agreement allows 600,000 Florida Blue customers across the region to retain access to physicians and facilities at both Baptist Health and Wolfson Children’s Hospital.

Sources told Action News Jax’s Ben Becker on Monday night that a deal was reached in principle.

In a joint statement, the organizations expressed relief over the resolution, stating, “We are pleased that our new agreement will limit disruption and bring peace of mind to many individuals and families in the Jacksonville community.”

Both parties emphasized their shared commitment to providing high-quality, affordable health care, a partnership that has spanned over 50 years.

This announcement came just hours before the previous contract between Florida Blue and Baptist Health was set to expire.
