JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The First Alert Weather Team says heavy snow has impacted much of the Deep South through Tuesday from New Orleans to Pensacola.
Liquid rain across northern Florida and southeast Georgia will transition to frozen precipitation (snow, sleet, freezing rain) for southeast Georgia after sunset and much of northeast Florida after midnight.

Gusty winds have developed areawide, in some cases above 35 mph. This will plummet feels-like temperatures through the 20s and upper teens by sunrise Wednesday.
A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for all of southeast GA and most of northeast Florida (including Coastal Duval and Coastal Nassau counties).
There is a Winter Weather Advisory overnight/early Wednesday for St. Johns and Eastern Putnam county.
Our message remains for folks in the Winter Storm Warning to be home by sunset and plan to stay there through mid-day tomorrow.
Inland bridges and overpasses will be more susceptible to icing first, then other roads and highways that are untreated.

Ice could weigh down trees enough to result in some power outages. Inland ice accumulations up to 0.25″ are possible, causing potentially treacherous travel conditions.
A burst of heavy snow somewhere near/north of the FL/GA border could produce snow totals of 2-4″ in a few spots.
A period of freezing rain/sleet and even snow may arrive for coastal northeast Florida before or near sunrise Wednesday.

Precipitation quickly ends Wednesday morning after sunrise, with temperatures rising above freezing by mid-morning at which anything frozen will begin to melt.
Morning freezes appear likely through the remainder of the week.
