First Alert Weather: Chilly rain Saturday before much colder weather returns

Chilly showers Saturday with cold temperatures tonight First Alert Meteorologist Trevor Gibbs is tracking a widespread freeze expected Sunday morning.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Temperatures are expected to go back to freezing again on Sunday after light rain on Saturday.

Here’s what the First Alert Weather Team said you can expect:

  • Widespread light rain is falling this morning with temperatures largely in the 50s.
  • A cold front will clear our region today, taking the rain with it by the afternoon.
  • Temperatures fall quickly tonight with gusty winds into the low 30s.
  • Enough dry time is expected to preclude the development of any black ice.
  • By Sunday morning, most of our area will be below freezing.
  • Our cool weather pattern continues with highs each day in the 50s and mornings in the 30s.
