FHP:  One dead, several injured in 22-vehicle car crash in Nassau County

Jacksonville, Fl. — One person is dead and 13 people are recovering after a crash involving 22 cars in Nassau County.

Sergeant Dylan Bryan from the Florida Highway Patrol says it started with a crash involving two cars on I-95 South near State Road 200. The initial crash caused at least one lane to be blocked and caused traffic to back up.

A semi-truck was also traveling southbound and was unable to stop, and struck several cars. Troopers say out of the 22 cars involved in this crash, three are semis, one is a camper, and the rest are passenger vehicles. Sgt. Dylan Bryan says they plan to have all southbound lanes shut down for several hours as they continue to investigate.

U.S. 17 will be your alternate until they wrap up their investigation and all lanes are open.
