Either avoid it or drive a lot slower.
That's the word from the state should Jacksonville's highway construction zones flood again like they did Tuesday afternoon.
Heavy rain, hail and strong winds did more than damage people's property around the First Coast. It also left parts of Interstate 95 impossible to navigate, especially around Overland Bridge.
David Fierro with the Florida Department of Transportation says a lot of those projects - including the Overland Bridge - don't have drainage systems in place yet.
"There's not much we can do on a temporary basis if we get storm systems moving in," Fierro added. "All you can really do is batten down the hatches."
If those roads are flooded, FDOT suggests driving a lot slower in those areas or avoiding them altogether.
