Jacksonville, FL — The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is warning I-295 (East Beltway) northbound drivers of a double lane closure on the Dames Point Bridge between the hours of 9 am and 3 pm Monday, and drivers should plan to take an alternate route during this time.
FDOT says the closure is necessary so crews can make repairs to an ITS camera on one of the bridge towers. The work is required for the camera to remain in operation and provide drivers with real-time traffic data via FL 511.
Because of the extended hours and nature of the work, FDOT is encouraging drivers to plan ahead and seek an alternate route in case traffic starts to back up in the area while repairs are underway.
