The Florida Department of Transportation says the Shands Bridge has re-opened.
The eastbound lane of the bridge was closed for hours on Wednesday, due to maintenance repairs. FDOT says a routine inspection was performed, during which a piece of grate was found to be in need of work. As a result, they closed the eastbound lane.
The westbound lane of the Shands Bridge remained open throughout the repairs.
