Jacksonville FL — Starting at 7 AM Monday, early voting gets underway in Duval County ahead of the midterm elections. This year’s election features some big races, including the one for Florida governor, the US Senate, and the one for a new sheriff in Jacksonville. You’ll be able to cast your ballot early at 20 early voting sites, between 7 AM and 7 PM daily from October 24th – November 6th. Supervisor of Elections for Duval County Mike Hogan says early voting is becoming a more popular option.

“It’s the easiest way to vote I think”. Hogan says.

He says is especially easy if you go during the mid-morning or in the middle of the afternoon. You’ll need to bring a valid ID and you’ll be able to vote at any of the early voting sites regardless of where you live.

Below are the locations of early voting sites in Duval County.

Hogan says if you plan to vote early one way you can save time is to have your sample ballot filled out ahead of voting.

“In every election where we have amendments, people haven’t read them until they get in there, and that slows the process down”. Hogan says.

For this election, Hogan says he’s expecting turnout to be anywhere between 60%-62%. Turnout for the 2018 midterms was 62.87%.

If you are not a fan of voting early, Election Day is November 8th.
