Duval teacher fired after drug arrest

The Duval County Public School district fired teacher James Van Richburg after he pleaded guilty to drug possession.
When Clay County deputies caught him earlier this year, they believe he was intending to conduct a drug transaction.
They were initially serving a warrant on another person when Richburg drove up.  Richburg resisted arrested but was eventually handcuffed.  Detectives found a handgun, two grams of marijuana, a marijuana grinder, two marijuana pipes, and seven pills.
Richburg was one of seven teachers either fired or disciplined at this week's school board meeting.
