JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — If you want to receive the monoclonal antibody treatment at a Jacksonville site, you’ll now have to show proof of a positive COVID-19 test.
The state, as well as CDR Health who administers the treatment in Jacksonville, said the positive test result is needed because of the limited supply of the treatments nationwide.
Action News Jax reported last week when the site moved from Jacksonville’s downtown library to the Joseph Lee Center located at 5120 Perry Street. It’s open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Florida Department of Health said it’s important to get the treatment as soon as possible after COVID-19 diagnosis, as the treatment can help prevent severe illness, hospitalization and death.
The free treatment is available for those 12 years or older.
