JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Jacksonville Sheriff’s Officer is expected to be OK after losing control of his motorcycle on Philips Highway near J. Turner Butler Boulevard Thursday morning.

An officer on scene told Action News Jax reporter Meghan Moriarty that a JSO officer tried to cut through the median on US-1 and Philips Highway when he lost control of his bike.

The officer went to the hospital to get checked out but has “very very minor” injuries according to the officer on scene.

The crash shut down all northbound lanes of Philips Highway at JTB, but all lanes have since reopened.
