JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Jacksonville Transportation Authority bus was shot at Thursday afternoon, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.
It happened at the intersection of East Beaver and North Market streets.

No one was hurt, police said, and three people are in custody.
JTA said due to the police activity, there is a detour on Route 19 until further notice.
JTA released the following statement about the incident:
“JTA CEO Nat Ford and Sheriff T.K. Waters are in communication regarding two incidents that have occurred over the last week. Two different JTA buses traveling on Bus Route #19 in East Jacksonville were struck by bullets. There were no reported injuries on either bus. Both incidences are under investigation by JSO.
“JTA and JSO are committed to ensuring the safety of our bus operators, passengers and citizens within the area. JTA is taking corrective actions, including rerouting the bus until further notice. Passengers will be notified of these changes and should also check JTA’s website at jtafla.com for details. For further information about the incidences, please contact JSO.”
