Drug lab busted, Clay County man arrested

Jacksonville, Fl — A Clay County man is facing multiple charges related to a drug lab in Keystone Heights. Sheriff Michelle Cook says a psychedelic drug was scheduled to be shipped to a home earlier this month, leading to the eventual arrest of Cody Clifford.

Cook says the investigation began on March 19th, when two border seizures of mescaline were discovered. The intercepted shipments were scheduled for delivery at a home in Keystone Heights, Cook said.

Detectives went to the home and discovered a DMT extraction lab. DMT is a hallucinogenic drug similar to LSD. Cook says detectives found other chemicals used to create psychedelic drugs, five guns, thousands of rounds of ammunition, as well as chemicals that could be used to build explosive devices.

Cody Clifford is charged with several felony and misdemeanor charges. The Department of Children and Families was also involved in the investigation, as children lived on the property. They were removed as part of the investigation.
