Driver in deadly DUI crash sentenced to 15 years in prison

Bryn Turner died in a July 2019 crash in Jax Beach

Jacksonville, Fl — A Jacksonville man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for a DUI crash that killed a young man in Jax Beach.

Bryn Turner and another person were hit by a car in July 2019 on 2nd Street North. Turner died and the other victim was seriously hurt.

Prosecutors say Joshua Lovingood was driving between 56 and 71 miles per hour, way above the speed limit of 25 mph, and his blood alcohol level was well over two times the legal limit at the time.

Lovingood worked as a bartender at a Beaches-area brewery and during his shift, prosecutors say he had several alcoholic beverages with customers before leaving and causing the crash.
