JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A driver shortage caused dozens of school buses in Duval County to be delayed Tuesday afternoon.
In a recorded message, Duval County Public Schools said that COVID-19 had many of its drivers out of work and that routes were running significantly behind schedule.
Many of the delays were reportedly for schools on the north, northwest and westsides of Jacksonville.
While buses may be delayed, the district said all students are safe and supervised while waiting for their bus at school.
