Downtown Jacksonville Wells Fargo Center Reopens

Jacksonville, FL — More than two weeks after flooding from Hurricane Irma, the Wells Fargo Center in downtown Jacksonville is reopening its doors today.

Both levels of the underground parking garage were flooded as a result of unprecedented high tide of the St. Johns River.

The building, which originally opened in 1975, has a flood gate at the loading dock entrance on Independent Drive, but the water breached that infrastructure and entered the garage.

The lobby and rest of the building did not sustain any flood damage. More than 50 businesses are housed at the Wells Fargo Center, with approximately 1,500 employees.
