Downtown Investment Authority puts the old city hall and courthouse annex sites back out to bid

Jacksonville, FL — With crews working to clear the old city hall and courthouse annex sites in downtown Jacksonville, the search is on for the best developer to make good use of the land.

That's as the Downtown Investment Authority has decided to officially put the sites back out for bids.

Downtown business owners tell our partner Action News Jax that they're excited about the possibilities, as right now they have to depend on special events to bring people to the area.

"There's people here, they just have to have some place to go," says Warren Merrill, the owner of the Jacksonville Sports Tavern.

A date or timeline for when bids for the sites will be due wasn't mentioned during the DIA's meeting on Wednesday.
