Jacksonville, Fl — Douglas Anderson School of the Arts is now the second Duval County Public School to shut down in recent days. Students will begin this week on Duval HomeRoom, through at least Wednesday.
The principal say there are multiple cases over the past week and, out of an abundance of caution, the school is completing contact tracing.
Some parents were worried about the number of COVID-19 cases being much higher than what is reported on the school district’s dashboard.
"We can point fingers all we want, but I can’t blame anybody in particular — I don’t feel, in general, the schools had a good plan for opening”, said Merrilee Shurling.
School district leaders say they’re considering posting the case as soon as it’s confirmed.
Last week, Fletcher High School was forced to transition to online learning after dozens of cases were confirmed. The school was set to review today when students will return.
