They think he made the whole thing up to get out of going to work.

The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office has arrested Dominique Jones, 28, on charges of filing a false report and misuse of the 911 system.

According to deputies, Jones reported a robbery Monday night at the Howard Johnson Hotel on State Road 16, just off of I-95.

Jones claimed he was approached by another man, when he walked out of his hotel room and was ordered to the ground.

Jones went on to claim that the man had taken his wallet, but he couldn't tell deputies which direction the man went or even what he looked like.

After calling the K-9 unit and detectives from the Major Crimes Unit, deputies found Jones' wallet inside of his suitcase in the hotel room.

The police report says Jones eventually admitted to making up the robbery story, because he didn't not want to go work that night.

Bond for Jones has been set at $2,000.
