Deputies: Clay man points gun at sister for washing his clothes that contained ecstasy

An Orange Park man was arrested Wednesday after deputies say he pointed a gun at his 19-year-old sister during an altercation.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office said Christopher Burns, 21, got mad at his sister after she apparently washed his pants that contained Ecstasy.

According to the report, the incident happened at a home on Sunrise Village Drive that the siblings share.

The report said Burns grabbed a gun from underneath a couch cushion and pointed it in his sister’s direction. At some point after, deputies said he walked outside of the home and fired several rounds into the ground.

Deputies said they entered the residence and found furniture thrown and broken. The CCSO said drugs played a factor in this incident.

The victim told deputies she feared her brother was going to shoot and kill her.

Burns was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without the intent to kill.
