Deadly wrong-way crash in Northwest Jacksonville

Jacksonville, Fla. — One man was killed and two women were critically hurt in a crash Saturday night in Northwest Jacksonville.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a car being driven by a 73-year-old woman was traveling southbound in a northbound lane of U.S. 1 (Old Kings Road).

Around 8:45 p.m. just south of New Kings Road, her car collided with an SUV being driven by a 28-year-old woman from Fernandina Beach.

Both drivers were taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The passenger in the car driving in the wrong way was killed.

The identities of those involved have not been released.
