Jacksonville, Fl — A passenger in a truck was killed in a morning crash that tied up traffic for several hours in St. Johns County.
The crash happened on I-95 just north of Racetrack Road at 4:19 am. According to Florida Highway Patrol, a semi truck was merging onto I-95 northbound from the outside shoulder as a box truck was approaching.
The box driver rear-ended the semi tractor trailer. A 31-year-old man from Orlando, who was a passenger in the box truck, died. The driver, a 22-year-old Jacksonville man was seriously hurt.
The driver of the semi truck, a 36-year-old man from Homestead, sustained minor injuries.
