Jacksonville, FL — The passenger in a car going the wrong way on I-95 near University Boulevard died when the car hit another vehicle early this morning.
Florida Highway Patrol say the crash happened just before 1:30 a.m. 23-year-old Nicolas Reid, who was a passenger in the wrong way car, died. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to a preliminary crash report.
The 19-year-old driver, who lives in Atlantic Beach, had minor injuries. As charges are pending further investigation, WOKV is not naming the driver.
The driver who was in a Dodge Avenger that hit the wrong way car had minor injuries.
Northbound lanes of I-95 at University were blocked until just before 6 a.m. when they reopened.
