1 dead in an FOP gun range accident

A man accidentally shots his gun, hits himself and dies.  He was at the St. Augustine Fraternal Order of Police gun range.

The man was identified as 50-year-old Robert Allen Abbosh, he was not an officer.

Rescue teams were called in before 11 a.m. to the range on Inman Farm Road.  They found the man lying on the ground in one of the shooting bays.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.  Deputies believe the incident was self-inflicted and appears to have been accidental.  The exact cause of death has yet to be determined, that's pending an autopsy.

The victim was a registered Associate Member of the local Fraternal Order of Police and did not have any former law enforcement background.
