Jacksonville, FL — The recently resigned Principal of Fernandina Beach High School has now been fired from his new position in the Duval County School District.
WOKV learned Monday that Spencer Lodree had resigned from his Nassau post because he was accused of stealing $1,300 from ticket sale revenue for a school basketball game. Lodree told police he had some financial hardship, according to the District.
While Lodree submitted his resignation from Nassau February 5th, the Duval County School Board agenda for Tuesday night showed that he had been hired as an Assistant Principal for Northwestern Middle School, effective February 20th. He was pending formal confirmation by the School Board Tuesday night, but instead, he was released from that position today.
“On Monday, Duval County Public Schools’ human resources department concluded a review of Dr. Spencer Lodree’s application file and determined that he did not appropriately disclose relevant information regarding his separation from his previous employer,” says a statement from DCPS Spokeswoman Laureen Ricks.

DCPS says their review started late last week, when they learned about the circumstances of Lodree’s separation with the Nassau County School District. Because that happened so recently, DCPS says it hadn’t been recorded by the Florida Department of Education system that tracks violations.
