Jacksonville FL — A crash at the intersection of Old St. Augustine Rd. and Hartley Rd. totaled a Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office cruiser Thursday morning.
According to JSO, the officer was driving southbound on Old St. Augustine Rd. with his emergency lights on at high speeds when a truck collided with the cruiser.
The officer and driver of the truck had non-life-threatening injuries, but the officer was taken to the hospital.
The Traffic Homicide Unit responded to the scene to conduct an investigation on the crash.
According to JSO, the homicide unit conducts the investigation if a crash involves a JSO cruiser and someone was taken to the hospital.
