Jacksonville, FL — Traffic through Green Cove Springs was much slower than normal following a crash and fuel spill on U.S. 17 near State Road 16. Clay County Fire and Rescue says the crash happened around 3:44 am.
According to a crash report from Florida Highway Patrol, a semi truck heading south on U.S. 17 was making a left turn on to State Road 16 when a cargo van heading north of U.S. 17 when both vehicles collided.
An undetermined amount of of diesel fuel spilled on to the road and down the storm drain. The Department of Environmental Protection was on scene to monitor cleanup.
