Correctional Officer arrested for sex with an inmate at State facility in Baker County

Baker Correctional Institution (FDOC)

A Florida Department of Corrections CO has been arrested for sexual battery and sexual misconduct.

The probable cause affidavit signed against Tasha Anita Williams says that one two separate occasions, while Williams was working as a Correctional Officer at Baker Correctional, she had sexual intercourse with an inmate. The intercourse took place while inside of the state facility, according to the Office of Inspector General record.

The incidents allegedly happened in the beginning of September, at which point the FDOC OIG was notified of allegations of improper conduct by Williams. They’ve since interviewed Williams, but her statements have been redacted from the affidavit. The affidavit was signed yesterday.

We’re told Williams was taken to the Baker County Jail following her arrest.

The FDOC says Williams was hired April 10, 2015.

“The actions of this officer were totally unacceptable, and she resigned during the course of the Department’s investigation. We appreciate the continuous hard work of our Inspector General’s Office in helping to ensure the safety and security of our institutions,” says a statement from FDOC.

The FDOC says Williams did not have any prior discipline on her record.
