Jacksonville FL — The City of Jacksonville says they are receiving a number of complaints about businesses not following a new executive order issued earlier this week. We reported Monday when Mayor Lenny Curry issued the order mandating that if employees in Duval County can work from home then businesses should allow them to do so.
Wednesday, Curry said the city is cataloging the complaints and figuring out how they want to follow up on them. He is calling for employees and businesses to come together to figure this out and find solutions that are helpful to everyone.
“We just want everybody to take a deep breath, work together to make this happen, so we don’t spread this disease.” Curry says.
Curry has previously said consequences for businesses that don’t comply with the new order include condemning the business and shutting off utilities.
