A Clay County man wanted for the attempted murder of an officer is now in jail.
Nicholas Cannady, 26, was receiving treatment at Orange Park Community Hospital after being shot at three times by a Clay deputy who said Cannady was pointing a gun at him when he arrived on the scene.
It happened on December 13 when the Clay County Sheriff's Office received a call about a man acting suicidal at an apartment complex on Crossings Blvd near Wells Rd.
He's accused of attempted murder and assault on a law enforcement officer.
