Jacksonville, FL — The Clay County Sheriff's Office says a fight between two women that escalated into a shooting has now resulted in an arrest.
Deputies say on September 26th, they responded to a shooting at Academy Sports off of Blanding Boulevard.
As part of their investigation into that shooting, deputies say it became apparent that two women were fighting. During that fight, deputies say one of the women, now identified as 18-year-old Ava Mooring, allegedly fired 8 shots from a 9mm handgun into a vehicle with three people inside. Thankfully, we're told that no one was hurt.
Deputies say the initial fight started over a guy.
Deputies say with the help of the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, Mooring was arrested the following day at the Wacko's Gentleman's Club where she was employed. Our partner Action News Jax was outside, as that arrest took place. JSO was conducting its own, unrelated raid of the business at the time.
We're told Mooring is now charged with three counts of attempted murder.
