City of Jacksonville unveils locations for 4th of July fireworks this year

Jacksonville FL — To prevent large crowds from gathering in downtown Jacksonville due to the virus, the City of Jacksonville will spread out the fireworks across the city.

There will be six locations available for viewing so people can stay socially distant and safe.

• Downtown Jacksonville

• St. Johns Town Center Mall

• Northside: FSCJ North Campus

• Southside: The Avenues Mall

• Westside: Normandy/Lem Merrett Park

• Arlington: Ed Austin Regional Park

The city says the fireworks will start at 9:45 at night.

For the fireworks in downtown, the city says the easternmost northbound lane on the Acosta Bridge will be closed from 12 p.m. – 11:59 p.m. on July 4 and the bridge will be closed fully from 9:15 until all the firework trailers and debris has been cleared. They say the Main Street Bridge will be closed from 9:15 until 10:15 at night and all other bridges will remain open.
