Why did you decide to run for office: I am running for the people in my district. We deserve real change. We need real change. I'm not running to get a new job, because I work hard in my community everyday. I'm running to do a job for this district.

What is the biggest problem facing Jacksonville as a city overall, and how specifically would seek to address that: Crime. I plan to fight crime by fighting poverty. Crime is a systemic issue in our community that is a result of poverty. We combat that by ensuring that employment opportunities are first offered locally as well as increasing the availability of job-related training for marketable skills.

What makes your constituents unique, and how would that influence your time in office: District 7 is a vibrant community filled with big hearts and big spirits. I want to amplify those feelings, hear the concerns and create a plan for improvement.

What would be your main budget priority for the upcoming fiscal year: Reviewing the educational budget to make sure it is optimized for success. I'd like to review all budgets in completion before recommending major changes.

How do you define what you hope Jacksonville will be ten years from now: My hope for Jacksonville is to transition from the murder capital to the earning capital.
