Jacksonville, FL — Days after the mass shooting at the Jacksonville Landing that claimed the lives of two victims and injured nearly a dozen others, the fire marshal's office has issued Chicago Pizza a cease and desist notice.
According to documents we've now obtained from the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department, in the aftermath of the shooting they reviewed the Building Department's Inspection Database which revealed that Chicago Pizza had a gaming area, known as the GLHF game bar, that was not permitted.

They say the last building layout plan submitted by Chicago Pizza was in 2009. That plan did not designate a game room area, therefore, JFRD says there should not have been a video gaming tournament inside the restaurant.
In addition, Chicago Pizza is being hit with other fire code violations, as JFRD says from the exterior of the business they could see multiple issues, including the following:
1. Using extension cords as a substitute for permanent wiring
2. Obstructing the means of egress by placement of video machines and other objects
3. Using strip plugs as permanent wiring
Each of those civil citations, comes with a $75 fine and a $5 court cost fee.
WOKV has reached out to the Jacksonville Landing and a representative for the GLHF Game Bar for a statement, but have yet to hear back.
