A car that crashed into a local business on Saturday morning is still there.
Atlantic Beach Police say the driver of a silver Jaguars S-Type was speeding, driving erratically, and lost control. He reportedly hydroplaned during a heavy rain early in the morning.
Our partner Action News was told the car is still in the building because police had to wait fo ran inspector to make sure the building was stable enough to remove the car without collapsing.
Atlantic Beach Police say a building inspector made it out Monday. A tow truck was slated to arrive Tuesday, but that never happened. WOKV and Action News are now working to find out why.
In the days the car has been stuck, the site has become an unofficial tourist destination.
“Interesting little mystery. Came to see what the rest of the story is,” says former Neptune Beach mayor Dick Brown
Some people are even coming to the site and posing next to the car.
