“I got the phone call hey we have an emergency at the coffee shop. Somebody ask me last night like you don’t seem mad or upset and I think just what we are standing on is the foundation that we built here. we’ve seen stuff from 9,000-dollar pipe leaks,” Ron Armstrong, owner of Grounds of Grace, said.

The coffee shop also has an after-school program for students.

Armstrong said an hour before this crash they had around 90 kids playing on the playground alongside the building near where the accident happened.

He is thankful no one was outside at the time this happened.

“If this would’ve happened just a little bit sooner, this was full of kids,” Armstrong said.

Grounds of Grace is a ministry that helps release children from poverty by meeting their physical needs and also sharing the gospel, Armstrong says is now recovering from this incident.

Armstrong said the community is already helping.

“Now we are in the rebuilding process so, the money that it takes to rebuild the fencing and the foundation, it caved in part of the building at the end. The community has already stepped up in a tremendous amount,” Armstrong said.
