Jacksonville — Jacksonville Beach police are getting calls from around the country, after they said their non-emergency number was spoofed by scammers. Now, police said they’re getting calls from all over the country from people saying they had a missed call from 904-270-1661.
Those missed calls were the result of the scammers using the number to pretend to be a bail bondsman, who would demand $10,000 for a loved-one’s bail.
So far, there are no reports of the calls being received by people in Jacksonville. The department said people who receive the calls should hang up.
