Bomb threats called in at multiple Florida Publix stores

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. — Around the same time that St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office was evacuating a Publix grocery store and surrounding businesses Monday in Sawgrass Village, authorities in St. Cloud were doing the same at a Publix there.

Action News Jax reported on the evacuation at the Sawgrass Village Publix, 220 Front St., Ponte Vedra Beach, after the sheriff’s office posted about the incident on its Facebook page.

Around the same time, Action News Jax’s Orlando TV station, WFTV9, was reporting on a similar evacuation at a St. Cloud Publix.

In both instances, no dangers were found in the stores or surrounding areas and normal activities continued.
