Body found in St. Johns County pond confirmed as missing central Florida man

A body found floating in a pond off County Road 210 and Sandy Creek Parkway has now been confirmed as a missing man from Central Florida.

The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office confirms the remains are 43-year-old Brian White. There are no obvious signs of foul play, but further testing is taking place.

We first told you last week that White, of New Port Richey, was last seen in St. Augustine several weeks ago, after meeting with a family member in Jacksonville. He told his mother on January 28th that he was coming home, but hadn't been heard from since.

Earlier this week, SJSO says the vehicle White was driving was found abandoned in a parking lot in an industrial park on County Road 210.  The Sheriff’s Office helicopter was launched to search the area, and the body was found floating in a pond on the old KOA campground property late Tuesday.

The investigation is still ongoing.
