Jacksonville, Fl — The Baker County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a disturbing sequence of events in Macclenny.
Baker County deputies tell our partner Action News Jax, they were called around 6 AM Monday morning, by a man who claimed to have tried to kill himself. When they arrived at the residence on Big Oak Court, deputies say they found a man with a knife his stomach. He was taken to the hospital.
But as deputies continued to walk through, they found an elderly woman, they say appeared to have been dead for several hours. Her death is being called suspicious, due to injuries on her body. Deputies say her body has been taken to the Medical Examiner's Office in Gainesville to determine an exact a cause of death.
At this time, deputies are not identifying either individual. The sheriff's office has not officially named a suspect, but they confirm to Action News Jax they aren't actively looking for anyone.
Deputies say they plan to release more information on Tuesday.
