Jacksonville, FL — Just two days after Jacksonville Beach police announced the arrest of 18-year-old Javoris Price in connection to a deadly double shooting back in July, we're learning witnesses reported three different gunmen were involved.
According to the arrest warrant we've obtained, witnesses told police that Price and a few other people were involved in a physical altercation with Glen McNeil, Jr., 23, in the early morning hours of July 5, 2017, as Fourth of July festivities were wrapping up.
During that fight, Price allegedly 'snatched' a necklace off of McNeil's neck and then walked away, with a witness saying Price told McNeil, "You don't want any of this. You don't want to mess with us."
Price and the group apparently walked away after the incident, but McNeil followed them, asking for his necklace. That's when things took a violent turn. Witnesses reported hearing some 10 to 12 gunshots, with at least 3 different people firing guns.
McNeil was hit in the shoulder area and later died at the hospital. A second victim was also hit by the bullets, but survived the shooting.
A witness reportedly told police that they heard the three gunmen laughing as they left the area.
The warrant goes on to say that ballistic analysis from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement reveals that up to three different firearms of different manufactures were used at the scene.
The warrant also reveals that Price allegedly tried to sell two guns on Facebook the day after the shooting. The warrant says it's believed these guns were used in the shooting.
Price is currently charged with 2nd degree murder, attempted murder, and armed robbery.
WOKV is reaching out to the Jacksonville Beach Police Department to learn if these two other people are considered suspects in McNeil’s murder and if there’s an active search underway.
