Arlington gas station robbed, two people detained

Jacksonville, FL — No one was hurt in an armed robbery at a Gate gas station on Merrill Road in the Arlington area early this morning. Two people were taken into custody by police following the robbery and a pursuit into a neighborhood nearby.

An officer told Action News Jax reporter Alicia Tarancon that the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office was investigating an armed robbery that took place at the gas station. It led to a police chase on Townsend Boulevard.

This isn’t the first robbery at the Gate station.  In 2018, a clerk was fatally shot at the gas station during an armed robbery .
