TAVARES, Fla. — UPDATE 9:30: A 5-year-old boy reported missing in Tavares has been found safe, according to police. Tavares police confirmed Monday morning that 5-year-old Jace Saunders has been found safe. Police said the boy’s grandmother, Kelly Dasilva, is currently in custody and being transported to Tavares Police Department for questioning.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement has issued a Florida AMBER Alert for Jace Saunders, age 5, last seen in Tavares. Jace may be with his grandmother, Kelly Day-Dasilva, age 50, FDLE said.
FDLE said Saunders was last seen in the 1000th block of Wells Avenue in Tavares and was wearing a long sleeve black shirt with a multicolored graphic and dark-colored pajama pants (actual outfit shown in FDLE photo below).
