All three NE FL GOP representatives plan to object during Electoral College vote Wednesday

Jacksonville FL — Ahead of the Electoral College vote Wednesday in Congress, all three Republican Representatives from the Northeast Florida area have come out and said they will object on January 6th.

Representative John Rutherford was the first to release a statement and says he will join his colleagues in objecting to any electors from states where serious allegations of election fraud exist. Below is the full statement released by Rutherford.

The newest member of the Northeast Florida delegation Representative Kat Cammack says, in a statement, that given her constitutional duty and the fact that thousands of sworn affidavits detailing specific election irregularities remain unresolved, she will object to the electoral college certification process. Below is her full statement on her plans.

On Tuesday, Representative Michael Waltz announced he plans to object to some of the electors because several states faced significant constitutional issues regarding officials or state courts changing election rules before the election. Below is the full statement Waltz released on Twitter.

On January 6th, I will object to some of the electors because several states faced significant constitutional issues regarding officials or state courts changing elections rules set by state legislatures just months before the actual elections. I will be following a law that’s been in place for 130 years.

I take my responsibility very seriously to uphold the rule of law, to thoroughly understand constitutional issues and listen to the concerns of nearly 70 million Americans.

This is NOT sedition, treason, or cowardice or other character attacks many in the media have launched. In America we are working through our disputes through courts and legislatures NOT violence and bloodshed like many countries where I’ve served.

Rather, as @SpeakerPelosi (House Speaker Nancy Pelosi) said when objecting in 2005, this is “democracy at work. We’re standing up for three fundamental beliefs. The right to vote is sacred; a representative has a duty to represent his/her constituents & the rule of law is the hallmark of our nation.”

Every American should want these issues heard so the country moves forward, not just for this election but for future elections.

After Congress votes on the 6th, I will fully support a bipartisan commission to fix these problems & we WILL have a peaceful transfer of power.

Previously we reported when Attorney General William Barr announced in early December that the Justice Department had not uncovered any evidence of widespread voter fraud that could’ve changed the outcome of the 2020 election.

We reached out to Congressman Al Lawson for a statement on these objections and he says the objections are an attempt to subvert the will of the voters. Below is his full statement.

This is a sad day for our democracy, and a sad day for the American people.  The votes have already been counted, recounted, litigated and state certified. These last-minute objections are nothing more than an attempt to subvert the will of the voters. America has spoken and the suggestion that anything else is true is an insult to the very idea that the American people have the right to choose their leaders.

From my days as an athlete, and as a coach, you can’t replay the game when you lose.
