Jacksonville FL — Thursday a FEMA spokesperson confirmed to WOKV that all K – 12 school staff, regardless of age, are now eligible to get vaccinated at the federally run vaccination sites in Jacksonville. Those sites are located at the Gateway Mall on Norwood Avenue, Hammond Senior Center (3312 W 12th St), and Normandy Community Center (1751 Lindsey Rd). Between the three sites, we’re told 3,000 vaccines will be able to be administered a day. The Gateway site is open from 7 AM – 7 PM daily, while the two smaller sites are both open from 9 AM – 5 PM daily.
A FEMA spokesperson says walk-ups will be accepted at the sites, but the best way to avoid any potential long lines will be to register at Myvaccine.fl.gov.
Meanwhile, Publix says they are joining other stores in offering the expanded access for all school staff beginning with appointments made during the scheduling window opening Friday morning at 7. Appointments are made online through their online reservation system and you’ll be able to make an appointment for this upcoming Monday and Tuesday.

New on Friday morning, Southeastern Grocers announced Winn-Dixie and Harveys Supermarket stores will administer vaccinations to newly eligible groups such as day care workers, preschool teachers and educators in elementary, middle and high schools with no age limit.
An additional 5,900 free Moderna vaccines will be available in 123 store locations while supplies last.
