The family of a murdered Jacksonville student is putting some of the blame on the school.
The family of 17-year-old Makia Coney is slapping University Christian School with a lawsuit, saying if they had protected Coney, she may still be alive today.
The 17-year-old girl left campus in February 2010 with classmates Charles Southern and Connor Pridgen. The two have since been found guilty of putting guns to her head and taking her life.
University Baptist Church, head Pastor Frank Ciresi, former after-school director Melissa Tucker are among those named in the lawsuit.
