Crash in Nocatee woods kills teenager

NOCATEE, Fla. — Two teenagers were in the car when their car crashed into a wooded area. The passenger 17-year-old Georgie Moreland was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver does not have any noticeable injures.

Lieutenant Danny Adam says the fatal car crash happened at the intersection of Cross Town Road and Preservation Trial at 3:25 Thursday morning.

The crash is under investigation, but the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is looking into alcohol as a possible cause.

No roadways are blocked, since the car crashed into the woods of a dead end.
