Middleburg, FL — The Safe Animal Shelter in Middleburg may have to stop taking cats and kittens because it’s having a hard time caring for all the sick animals that have come in recently.
A Facebook post said the shelter is short-staffed. The shelter lacks foster homes and volunteers, and its medical bills have become unmanageable.
Without help from the community, the shelter will no longer be able to accept cats and kittens. Workers say they’re “exhausted and feel helpless.”
